In EXPERIENCE
I Srinivas Tangirala, 52 yrs. Male would like to narrate my recent experiences and the road to a fight for Cancer of my Prostate. I have tried to explain the chronology of events to the best of my ability, so that the reader can get the picture of what exactly happened with me and how other readers, who read this can save themselves by timely tests & consultations with the Doctors to get rid of Cancer and get 100% cured from it. During a routine visits to the Urologist, in the first week of June 2021, I was informed that my Prostate was slightly larger compared to my age and was suggested Sonography, in which it was confirmed and was further advised a detailed Sonography, in which it was seen that there are 2 nodules/ growths, which need to be further investigated and was advised a Biopsy, hence I went for the same on 19.06.2021, which indicated that I have 2 growths, one with a grade of 3+3 and the other with a grade of 4+3, so I was in the initial stage in one case and intermediate stages in second case, so was advised Surgery of the Prostate or removal of it totally, when I visited the Surgeon on advice of my Urologist. I had to wait for 4 weeks, after my Biopsy to get my MRI done & a PET CT Scan (which tries to ascertain the spread of the Cancer, if any to the other parts of the Body) for the Best results of the Scans. Once I got the reports of the both the Scans, I was informed to fix up a date for the surgery, since it was a elective surgery and not an emergency. The Doctor did mention that the Cancerous growth would be very slow inside the prostate and we can get the surgery done even on a later date However I wanted to get it done at the earliest, so that there is no further spread or damage. My Surgery date was fixed for 13.08.2021 and had to get admitted the previous day and the Surgery started at around 8 am on 13.08.2021 and I came back to the Ward by around 5 pm. I had got a Robotic Surgery done, since that is what was recommended to me and was said that recovery after such a Surgery would be very fast. I was discharged with a Catheter on 16.08.2021 and on my first OPD visit on 21.08.2021, the Catheter was removed and I am on Diapers, till I get the muscle control and once that is achieved, I would be normal as earlier. My health or rather the way I feel is getting better every day, meaning, every day is better than the previous day and I am slowly getting a feeling of becoming normal as I was before the Surgery. Throughout my entire process of Doctor consultations, tests, scans and during the Hospitalization and till I came home and even after that, my Wife had stood beside me like a pillar and I am very lucky and fortunate to have got married to such a wonderful person and life partner. Few of my friends, among many who wanted to volunteer for help, had also helped me during my Hospitalization. Most of all, I had kept a very Positive Attitude, right from the Diagnosis till the end of Surgery and even right now during my convalescence at Home, which is very important, since that is the best medicine and Positive attitude is the only thing which will take you through this entire healing process and bring you out in the best of your health and positivity, if gets contagious, will help your family and friends to cope up with the battle you are going through, since remember they are also in this as much as you are battling with the disease. Hope my above narrative is useful to the readers. My contact number is 9821049238, for those of you who would like to interact with me personally. You can always call me at any time, if I am busy, then I will call you back or you can always drop a WhatsApp message (on the same number) and I will surely reply by message or call. I am not on Facebook, kindly take note. “Wishing all a very Healthy Future and Happy Living”
